In the wake of the movie Dead Snow, the book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (not to mention the Emergency Road Sign hack I linked earlier this year), I find this article. Watch out for the undead!

BTW, I couldn't sleep last night, so I watched Shaun of the Dead. That may be the nail in the coffin, so to speak. Only zombies don't stay buried, so not the best choice of words, but I think you know what I mean.

Tricky business, adapting a book into a movie. Even trickier when you try to adapt a children's book. Still trickier, a book as visually distinct and, well, as short as Maurice Sendak's "Where The Wild Things Are".

I had heard that Spike Jonze was directing the movie, and I've tried to not get my hopes up. He has done some great videos for the Beasties and some movies that I like too. I think they have the right guy for the job.

For some reason, I checked out their website today and found a huge inventory of stunts, pranks, whatever you want to call them. I read about the Best Buy stunt and found it very entertaining, although the Agents' accounts tend to go on and on.

I was online this afternoon, and I saw a news story about some guy who claimed to be a real-life superhero. It was entertaining, but weird.

Turns out there are hordes of people out there doing the same thing. Lucky for all of us, they use the internet to promote themselves.

Originally, I wasn't aware that the videos had expiration dates. My bad. Its still a great episode, one to lookout for.

It does pretty well as a standalone episode, so don't get intimidated if you've never watched HIMYM. Its the first episode I watched, and it got me hooked.

Hulu has made the videos in their HD Gallery embeddable (sp?). Unfortunately, the video I had posted, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, wouldn't stream worth a darn, at least on my pc. So, I have taken it down. You can still view it, in either HD or standard def, at Hulu.com. And you should, it is really funny. At least the first two acts.

Arrested Development, how I miss you

One of the funniest shows in recent memory, Arrested Development is legendary in my household. From Gob's trademark "Come on!", to Buster's "Hey Brother", this show was witty and fast and so well acted. And, it was watched by fewer people than Yes Dear for some reason, and that proved to be its undoing.

Luckily, clips from the show are all over the internet, and the entire series is available for streaming on AOL Video and Hulu. No excuses for not having seen at least one episode, slackers!

Japan: Not just bug fights!

Something about Japan fascinates me. The history, the culture, the bizarre game shows, its all good in my book.

But it hasn't always been, as evidenced by this music video.

Back when my kids were into Tamagotchi, I found this site, geared toward children, explaining things like day-to-day life in Japan, as well as the history and geography of that great nation. They enjoyed it for awhile, then, like the Tamagotchis, it was dropped for something else.

Fort Myers scenery

Vacationed with the family in Fort Myers this summer. During our stay, I took many bike rides around the area. Some days I would cover 30 miles, most of the time before anyone else was even out of bed. I love being on 3rd shift!

I also took the camera with me.

Call me immature, but when I see a Butt Bag dispenser, I laugh like a little girl.

So, Fark.com has an amazing video section. If you aren't familiar with Fark, it is a user submitted site that collects stories from around the net that celebrate the stupidity, coolness, basically the essence of mankind. Nah, not really. Its just funny stories and sites. Which is why I love it.

Anyway, someone submitted this Batman video, and I was shocked and awed by it.

But I forgot how it was listed on YouTube. I searched for it and found this gem instead.

Luckily for me, I had told Jeff at work about the Batman Theme video, and he remembered the username of the guy that posted it, so I found it again and sent it to Double D.

At work, we talk about many things, and I often forget how we get there. That's the case with how we got on the subject of Japanese bug fights. But the point was that there is a website devoted to bug fighting, and it has to be seen to be believed.

Okay, a few weeks ago, I started sending random stuff to my friend Double D. Mostly links, the occasional picture and a song or two. I set this blog up to keep track of what I had sent, and to revisit every now and then for a good laugh. I thought a wider audience may appreciate some of this stuff too.
